Velavor was created to give those cafés the recognition they deserve and to create a trusted platform where customers can confidently discover exceptional independent coffee experiences.
Our Story
Velavor started with a simple question.
Why are some of the best coffee shops so hard to find?
As husband and wife, we’ve always loved exploring new places. Whether we were spending a weekend in London or visiting a different city, we would often find ourselves searching for independent coffee shops tucked away on side streets and hidden corners.
Time and time again, we discovered cafés that genuinely surprised us. The coffee was exceptional, the food was made with care, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Yet many of these places were almost empty, while a large chain coffee shop just a few minutes away was full of customers.
We couldn’t stop thinking about it.
These independent cafés were run by passionate people who had poured their hearts into creating something special, yet they often didn’t get the visibility they deserved.
That’s where the idea for Velavor was born.
Inspired by the way great restaurants are recognised and celebrated, we wanted to create a platform dedicated to discovering and supporting outstanding independent coffee shops. Not the biggest brands, but the hidden gems. The places that make communities unique and deserve to be seen.
